| This rf choke was simple to make and solved some quirky events when operating high power. Coaxial cable is great at shielding a signal travelling from the transceiver to the antenna. The trouble at the antenna end, is that, the radiated signal can travel back down to the transceiver on the coaxial outer! | ||

| This picture shows the construction I used in making this rf choke. A length of RG-58CU made into a loop, feed half a dozen or so ferrite sleeves (Jaycar LF1258) in the middle, a couple of cable ties to hold it together, two bnc crimp panel sockets at either end of the coax, insert into a short length of pvc conduit and finish off with a couple of chair leg end caps. Simple. |
