RF Choke
  Kill the unwanted RF!

This rf choke was simple to make and solved some quirky events when operating high power. Coaxial cable is great at shielding a signal travelling from the transceiver to the antenna. The trouble at the antenna end, is that, the radiated signal can travel back down to the transceiver on the coaxial outer!

  The bits

This picture shows the construction I used in making this rf choke. A length of RG-58CU made into a loop, feed half a dozen or so ferrite sleeves (Jaycar LF1258) in the middle, a couple of cable ties to hold it together, two bnc crimp panel sockets at either end of the coax, insert into a short length of pvc conduit and finish off with a couple of chair leg end caps. Simple.
